When
we were setting up an appointment to get together
I told Denis
"This is the most important
thing
on my
schedule."
Almost
every church has some practice they call baptism.
But I suppose most of them would
say that
baptism has nothing to do with
whethere one is saved or not.
3
Jesus answered and said to him,
“Truly,
truly, I say to you,
unless one is
born again,
he cannot see
the kingdom of God.”
5
Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you,
unless one is born of water and the Spirit,
he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
I
write so
that you may know
how one ought to conduct himself
in the household (or family)
of God,
which is the church of the living
God....
26
For you are all sons of God
through faith in Christ Jesus.
27 For
all of you who were baptized into Christ
have clothed yourselves with
Christ.
3
Or do you not know that
all of us who have been baptized
into Christ Jesus
have been baptized into His
death?
4
Therefore we have been buried with Him
through baptism
into death,
in order that as Christ was
raised from the dead
through the glory of the Father,
so we too might walk in
newness of life.
15
And He said to them,
“Go into all the
world and
preach the
gospel to all creation.
16 “He who has believed
and has been
baptized
shall be saved;
but he who has disbelieved
shall be condemned.
Belief
Baptism
No that's spontaneous
remission
2 But your iniquities have
made a separation
between you and your God,
And your sins have hidden His
face from you,
so that He does not hear.
38
And Peter said to them,
“Repent,
and let each of you be baptized
in the name of
Jesus Christ
for the
forgiveness of your sins;
and
you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
“Thus it is written,
that the Christ
should suffer
and rise again
from the dead the third day;
47 and that repentance for forgiveness of sins
should be
proclaimed in His name
to all the
nations,
beginning from
Jerusalem.
26
...this is My blood of the covenant,
which is poured
out for many
for
forgiveness of sins.
10
“And I said,
‘What shall I do, Lord?’
And
the Lord said to me,
‘Arise and go on
into Damascus;
and there you
will be told
of all that has
been appointed for you to do.’
25
Husbands, love your wives,
just as Christ also loved the
church
and gave Himself up for her;
26
that He might sanctify her,
having cleansed her
by the washing of water
with the word,
27
For all of you
who were baptized into Christ
have clothed yourselves with
Christ.
6
Jesus *said to him,
“I am the way,
and the truth,
and the life;
no one comes to the Father,
but through Me.
12
“And there is salvation in no one else;
for there is no other name under
heaven
that has been given among men,
by which we must be saved.”
12
having been buried with Him in baptism,
in which you were also raised up
with Him
through faith
in the working of
God,
who raised Him
from the dead.
3
Or do you not know
that all of us
who have been baptized into
Christ Jesus
have been baptized into His
death?
22
And according to the Law,
one may almost say,
all things are cleansed with
blood,
and
without shedding of blood
there is no forgiveness.
4
For it is impossible
for the blood of bulls and goats
to take away sins.
18
knowing that you were not redeemed
with perishable things
like silver or gold
from your futile way of life
inherited from your forefathers,
19
but with precious blood,
as of a lamb unblemished and
spotless,
the blood of Christ.
8
But God demonstrates His own love toward us,
in that while we were yet
sinners,
Christ died for us.
9
Much more then,
having now been justified by His
blood,
we shall be saved
from the wrath of God
through Him.
3
Or do you not know
that all of us
who have been baptized into
Christ Jesus
have been baptized into His
death?
16
‘And now why do you delay?
Arise, and be baptized,
and wash away your sins,
calling on His name.’
21
And corresponding to that,
baptism now saves you
